In 1987, Venice was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a world-renowned historical and cultural city, it is famous for its unique water transportation system and stunning architecture, earning it the nicknames “City of Water” and “Floating City”. Its various palaces, churches, and Renaissance murals and paintings continue to attract countless tourists and artists from around the world. To walk through walls and discover what hides behind them is the dream of all lovers of Venice.

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-French diplomatic relations. To celebrate this milestone, the CGCM, in collaboration with the Grand Palais Immersif in Paris and Ubisoft, has launched the “Venice Revealed” immersive digital exhibition. This exhibition models and restores historical Venice through the lens of a video game, allowing visitors to explore the city’s architecture, history, and iconic attractions as in-game characters in an immersive experience. Utilizing real-life 3D photogrammetry technology, the exhibition faithfully reproduces Venice’s magnificent urban spaces and splendid palace buildings.

This digital material captures the essence of Venice, a unique world cultural heritage site, and also raise awareness about the importance of protecting this beautiful and singular city. Start here and embark on a fantastic journey of light and shadow through Venice to explore the secrets behind this enchanting city of canals.
