A Collection of Cultural Relics
The collection of cultural relics at the CGCM is not only vast but also exceptionally diverse. It encompasses a wide array of artifacts, ranging from national treasures to items specific to Jiangsu Province. Within this collection are both esteemed palace heirlooms and significant archaeological discoveries. The CGCM houses an array of rare and exquisite artifacts across a broad spectrum of categories from every dynasty. These categories include bronze, jade, ceramics, gold and silver items, bamboo, wood, and ivory carvings, lacquerware, brocade and embroidery, calligraphy, paintings, seals, tablet inscriptions, and sculptures. Each category has its own unique historical significance, acting as a firsthand witness to the progression of Chinese civilization over thousands of years. These collections serve not only as essential resources for our academic research but also as the foundational material for providing cultural services. They are the vast cultural resources and assets of the CGCM.
