Liuyun Chenghui: The Luminous Legacy of Zibo Colored Glaze
When oriental colored glaze tempered by ancient kiln fire intersects with unrestrained contemporary artistic expressions, what eternal Chinese romance will emerge?
Jointly hosted by China Grand Canal Museum (Yangzhou) and Zibo Ceramics & Colored Glaze Museum, and co-organized by Boshan Colored Glaze Chamber of Commerce, the exhibition showcases 162 fine artworks dating back to ancient times and created in modern days. Following the thematic sequence Radiant Flow — Crystalline Clarity — Luminous Fusion, it presents a stunning light and shadow story.
The exhibition displays national and provincial intangible cultural heritage techniques, such as traditional Boshan colored glaze firing, rare color material refinement, Shandong-style interior painting and elaborate lampworking. It traces the millennial development, ingenuous craftsmanship and modern renewal of colored glaze, fully demonstrating the harmonious aesthetic charm inherited from classics and embodied in innovative creations of Boshan colored glaze.
